An Impormptu Overnight Stay in Kelowna, British Columbia

A family friend was getting married this past July, and though we had full intentions of going, we didn't plan on stopping anywhere or going anywhere else in BC.  The plan was to drive 9 hours to 108 Mile Ranch, BC to Spruce Hill Resort for their wedding and then 2 nights later, drive 9 hours back without stopping.  But when you're with a family of 5 and have traveller's temperment like ours, things never really go as planned.

So we stopped by Kelowna along the way.  I love Kelowna.  It's quite lovely there in the summer, but I've never been in the winter.  The water, the wineries and it's in-between Calgary and Vancouver.  It would be a nice place for a summer home.  We didn't stay long.  It was just a last minute stop over for appropriate rest from a fun filled and tiring weekend.  Plus, my parents needed a proper night's sleep, so we decided it was necessary, but not without seeing the boardwalk.

Usually, we visit the City of Kelowna in August, but this time, we were there the 2nd week of July, which is the perfect time for picking beautifully ripened cherries.  The kids had a blast.

Upon leaving Kelowna, We visited the famous Jammery, and the crazy creek.  We had been here before with Liam and Dylan, but Logan and my parents had never been.  Our way home was a long one, but filled with fun.  Kelowna in the summertime is filled with fun.  I think this is where I'll be for a few summers to come.
